Preparation
- Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box. Grease your cake pan as directed.
- Prepare the cake mix by combining the required eggs, oil, and water, then bake until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
Soaking the Cake
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk until well combined.
- Once the cake is cool, gently poke holes all over the top with a fork to help it absorb the milk mixture.
- Pour the milk mixture over the cake, ensuring it soaks in every bit, and let it sit for at least one hour (or refrigerate overnight for best results).
Serving
- Serve chilled, topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers tightly covered in plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, slice and freeze in a freezer-safe container, letting it thaw in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
