Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, egg, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and shape the mixture into patties.
Cooking
- Heat the meat drippings in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties to the skillet, cooking until browned on both sides, approximately 4-5 minutes each.
- Once browned, remove the patties and set them aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, add the flour to the remaining drippings, stirring to create a roux. Gradually pour in the beef broth, along with the Worcestershire sauce and the beef bouillon cube, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
- Return the browned patties to the skillet, spooning the rich gravy over them. Allow everything to simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.
Serving
- Serve warm, generously ladled with gravy.
Notes
Pairs well with mashed potatoes, rice, or sautéed vegetables. For a twist, serve as an open-faced sandwich on a toasted bun.
