  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Trimmed and seasoned with salt and pepper.
  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs For coating the chicken.

  • 2 large eggs Beaten, for the egg wash.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder For seasoning.
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese For the sauce.
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard For the sauce.
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream For the sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For the sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce For the sauce.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Create a breading station with three dishes: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for pretzel crumbs.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the egg, and coat thoroughly with pretzel crumbs.
  5. Arrange the coated chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
Sauce Preparation
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine shredded cheddar, Dijon mustard, heavy cream, olive oil, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Serving
  1. Serve the crispy chicken drizzled with the creamy mustard-cheddar sauce.

Notes

For an added kick, mix crushed red pepper flakes into the pretzel crumbs. For quicker prep, use store-bought pretzel crumbs.
