Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 lbs Beef Thinly sliced for best results
  • 1 count Onion Sliced
  • 1/2 tbsp Onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp Baking soda
  • 2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Garlic salt
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Vinegar
  • 6 count Footlong bread rolls Crusty bread preferred
  • 10 slices Provolone cheese
  • 2 cups Water

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the beef with baking soda, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, onion powder, black pepper, salt, sugar, and vinegar. Let it marinate for about 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the beef mixture. Cook until browned and cooked through, which should take about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent.
  4. Combine the beef and onions in the skillet, mixing them well together.
  5. Prepare the footlong bread rolls by slicing them open and placing the beef and onion mixture inside.
  6. Top each sandwich generously with slices of provolone cheese.
  7. If desired, cover the sandwiches with a lid to help melt the cheese perfectly.
Serving
  1. Serve hot and enjoy with crispy fries, salad, or soup.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days; reheat on a skillet or in the oven. For best results, slice beef thinly and consider adding toppings like bell peppers or mushrooms.
