Ingredients
  

Salad Base
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 medium red onion, sliced and rings separated
  • 1/4 cup carrots, shredded
  • 4 oz extra large black olives
  • 6 pepperoncini peppers
  • 3-4 roma tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup croutons
  • 2-3 tbsp freshly grated parmesan cheese
Dressing
  • 1 oz Italian Dressing Mix package
  • 3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/8 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 tsp mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic or roasted garlic

Method
 

Prepare the Dressing
  1. Mix all the dressing ingredients together in a bowl. Whisk thoroughly until well combined.
  2. Refrigerate the dressing until you are ready to serve.
Assemble the Salad
  1. In a large serving bowl, combine the chopped iceberg lettuce and romaine lettuce.
  2. Add the roma tomatoes, black olives, red onion, and pepperoncini peppers on top.
  3. Finish with croutons and a generous sprinkle of freshly grated parmesan cheese.
  4. Serve with the dressing made earlier, allowing everyone to dress their salad to taste.

Notes

The House Salad can be enjoyed on its own or paired with a variety of dishes. To keep leftovers fresh, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator and keep dressing separate until serving.
