Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 3 pieces Chicken breasts Skinless and boneless.
  • 1 piece Onion Chopped.
  • 64 oz Chicken broth Use homemade for richer flavor if possible.
Dumpling Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 tbsp Butter Melted.
  • 1 cup Milk
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Cooking the Chicken
  1. In a large pot, cook the chicken breasts until they are no longer pink, then remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, sauté the chopped onion until it turns translucent.
  3. Add the chicken broth and bring it to a boil.
Preparing the Dumplings
  1. For the dumplings, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, milk, and melted butter in a bowl until a dough forms.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling dough into the boiling broth, cover, and cook for about 10 minutes until the dumplings are thoroughly cooked.
Final Steps
  1. Shred the cooked chicken and add it back into the pot.
  2. Stir gently and let simmer for a few more minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Add a little extra broth when reheating to maintain moisture.
