- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced flank steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the chopped green onions and let it cook until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
- Serve the Mongolian beef over a bed of cooked rice.
Notes
For best results, marinate the meat for even a short while. Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli.
