  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking the beef.
  • 3 green onions, chopped For garnish and flavor.

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and cornstarch until smooth.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced flank steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in the chopped green onions and let it cook until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Serve the Mongolian beef over a bed of cooked rice.

Notes

For best results, marinate the meat for even a short while. Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli.
