Preparation
- Slice the flank steak into thin strips against the grain for tenderness.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sugar, and ginger to create the sweet soy sauce mixture and marinate the steak for at least 15 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil.
- Once the oil is hot, add the marinated steak and cook until browned, approximately 3-4 minutes.
- Pour the remaining marinade into the pan, letting the mixture simmer. If the sauce isn’t thickening after about 10 minutes, sprinkle in some cornstarch to achieve desired consistency.
- Serve the Mongolian Beef over a bed of rice and enjoy!
Notes
Garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds. Serve with steamed vegetables like broccoli or bok choy for extra nutrition.
