Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a stand mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth for about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Gradually add the flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until no flour streaks remain.
- Scoop out approximately six equal-sized balls of cookie dough, rolling them into smooth balls and flattening each to about 2 cm thick.
Baking
- Bake for 10 minutes, until the edges are set, and the tops have a light golden color.
- While the cookies bake, prepare the butter sauce by melting together the butter, powdered sugar, water, and vanilla extract in a saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat and let the butter sauce thicken for about 5 minutes.
Serving
- Once the cookies are out of the oven, brush each warm cookie generously with the butter sauce, allowing it to soak in.
- Once the glaze has set, sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy your treat!
Notes
