Butter Sauce Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp 2 tsp water
  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a stand mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth for about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until no flour streaks remain.
  5. Scoop out approximately six equal-sized balls of cookie dough, rolling them into smooth balls and flattening each to about 2 cm thick.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10 minutes, until the edges are set, and the tops have a light golden color.
  2. While the cookies bake, prepare the butter sauce by melting together the butter, powdered sugar, water, and vanilla extract in a saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove from heat and let the butter sauce thicken for about 5 minutes.
Serving
  1. Once the cookies are out of the oven, brush each warm cookie generously with the butter sauce, allowing it to soak in.
  2. Once the glaze has set, sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy your treat!
