  • 1 package frozen hash browns
  • 1 cup sour cream can be substituted with Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup cream of chicken soup can be replaced with vegetable soup for a vegetarian option
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese additional cheese can be layered on top before baking
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 small onion, diced sauté for extra flavor if desired
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup corn flakes optional for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the frozen hash browns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, shredded cheddar cheese, melted butter, diced onion, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir the mixture until everything is well combined.
  4. Transfer this cheesy goodness to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. If you like a crunchy topping, sprinkle corn flakes on top of the mixture.
Baking
  1. Slide it into the preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy!
