Ingredients

Meatloaf Ingredients
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef You can substitute with ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
Glaze Ingredients
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, eggs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until well combined and shape the mixture into a loaf.
  4. Place the meatloaf in a baking dish.
Glaze Preparation and Baking
  1. In a separate bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to create the glaze.
  2. Spread the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  4. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Don’t overmix the meat; it can make the loaf tough. Let the glaze sit on top of the meatloaf while baking for better caramelization. Be sure to let the meatloaf rest before slicing to help it hold together.
