  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 slices sandwich bread Any type of bread can be used
  • 1 tablespoon butter For cooking

Preparation
  1. In a flat-bottomed shallow baking dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated thoroughly.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt a tablespoon of butter.
  2. Once the butter is bubbling, add the soaked bread slices. Cook until they are golden brown on one side (about 2-3 minutes), then flip and repeat on the other side.
  3. Serve immediately, or keep warm in the oven for up to 30 minutes while you finish cooking the rest.

Notes

To enhance your French toast, consider topping it with powdered sugar, whipped cream, maple syrup, or fresh fruit. For storage, refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
