Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup Butter (softened) Make sure it's at room temperature for best results.
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 large Eggs Also at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with other mix-ins such as nuts or dried fruits.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in your chocolate chips or any mix-ins of your choice.
Baking
  1. For larger cookies, scoop out about 1/4 cup of dough per cookie and space them out evenly on the baking sheet.
  2. Chill the cookie dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

Notes

Enjoy the cookies warm with ice cream, or sandwich two cookies around frosting for a treat. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze unbaked dough and bake directly from frozen, adding a couple of extra minutes to the bake time.
