Ingredients

Cheese Sticks
  • 12 pieces mozzarella cheese sticks
Breading Mixtures
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 pieces eggs beaten
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Frying Ingredients

Method

Preparation
  1. Freeze the mozzarella sticks for at least 1 hour to help them maintain their shape while frying.
  2. Set up your breading stations: in one bowl, place the flour. In a second bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the hot sauce. In a third bowl, combine breadcrumbs with cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, dip it into the egg mixture, and then coat it thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
Frying
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  3. Remove the fried mozzarella sticks and drain them on paper towels. Serve hot for the best experience.

Notes

For an extra crunch, double coat the mozzarella sticks by dipping them in the egg and breadcrumb mixture twice. Experiment with different spices in the breadcrumb mixture for unique flavors.
