  • 8 oz linguini pasta
Protein
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh shrimp preferred for best flavor
  • 8 oz andouille sausage, sliced Can substitute with turkey or chicken sausage
Sauce Components
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning Adjust according to spice tolerance
Aromatics
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
Cooking Essentials
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Chopped parsley for garnish Optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened and fragrant.
  3. Toss in the sliced andouille sausage, cooking until it’s nicely browned.
  4. Stir in the shrimp and cook until they turn a beautiful pink.
Cooking
  1. Next, add the Cajun seasoning, chicken broth, and heavy cream to the pot.
  2. Bring everything to a simmer and gently add the linguini pasta. Cook it according to the package instructions, or until it’s al dente.
  3. Finish off with salt and pepper to taste, then garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve with warm, crusty bread and a fresh green salad. Add red pepper flakes for extra spice.
