Chicken Ingredients
  • 2 lbs Chicken breasts, boneless Can substitute with chicken tenders.
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1/3 cup Louisiana style hot sauce
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk Can substitute with regular milk and vinegar.
Breading Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup All purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Chipotle chile powder Adjust to taste.
  • 2 tsp Kosher salt
  • 2 tsp Smoked paprika
Frying
  • Peanut oil To fill a deep fryer.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the chicken breasts into strips.
  2. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, eggs, and Louisiana style hot sauce. Soak the chicken strips in this mixture for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, chipotle chile powder, smoked paprika, and kosher salt.
Cooking
  1. Heat the peanut oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Dredge the soaked chicken strips in the flour mixture until well coated.
  3. Fry the chicken strips in the hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Drain them on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

For serving, pair these chicken strips with various dips such as honey mustard, ranch, or spicy aioli. They can also be enjoyed in a sandwich.
