  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup orange juice freshly squeezed for best flavor
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • Green onions, for garnish chopped

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare the chicken by cutting it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Dip the chicken into cornstarch followed by beaten eggs.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Carefully fry the chicken pieces until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  3. Once done, remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  4. In a separate pot, combine the sugar, orange juice, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
  5. Bring this mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and allow it to simmer until thickened.
  6. Add the fried chicken to the pot, thoroughly coating it with the delicious sauce.
  7. Serve the dish hot, garnished with chopped green onions for a fresh touch.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For best results, reheat in a skillet over medium heat to maintain crispiness.
