Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's softened for better mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed for best results.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Adjust according to preference.
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped Optional, can substitute with other nuts.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  6. Drop large scoops of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden but the center is still soft.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze them for longer storage. Adjust chocolate and nuts as preferred.
