Ingredients

For the Marinade
  • 3 tbsp Chipotles in adobo
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp Water
Main Ingredient
  • 1 lb Flank steak

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together the chipotles in adobo, lime juice, black pepper, kosher salt, vegetable oil, and water to create a flavorful marinade.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable bag or a shallow dish, then pour the marinade over it, ensuring the steak is well-coated.
  3. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or for more robust flavor, up to 12 hours.
Cooking
  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  3. Grill the steak for about 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting the time to achieve your preferred doneness.
  4. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain for maximum tenderness.
Serving
  1. Serve in burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, or salads for a delightful meal!

Notes

Allow the steak to come to room temperature before grilling for even cooking. For a quick marinate option, a minimum of 30 minutes will still provide great flavor.
