  • 8 ounces chicken breast sliced into thin strips
  • 1/2 cup cabbage
  • 1/2 cup carrots
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 green onion green onion for garnish

  • 1/2 red bell pepper red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 8 ounces lo mein noodles
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Preparation
  1. Slice the chicken breast into thin strips.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Introduce the garlic, ginger, onions, and bell pepper; stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
  3. Stir in the cabbage, carrots, and chicken broth, cooking for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the lo mein noodles, along with the hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
  5. Toss everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes until thoroughly combined.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with green onions.

Notes

Feel free to swap out vegetables based on what you have on hand. Broccoli, snap peas, or bell peppers all work wonderfully in this dish. Best served in a large bowl topped with chopped green onions, and can be paired with spring rolls or dumplings.
