  • 2 lbs Ground beef Rich and flavorful base
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Acts as a binding agent
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped Adds flavor
  • 2 large Eggs Additional binding
  • 1/2 cup Milk Keeps the meatloaf moist
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup For mixing and glazing
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Adds a deep flavor
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste
  • 1 tsp Pepper To taste
Optional toppings
  • 1/4 cup Shredded cheese For a cheesy twist
  • 4 slices Bacon For added flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, eggs, and milk. Mix until just combined.
  3. Add in the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan, shaping it to fit.
  5. Spread additional ketchup over the top for that classic glaze.
Baking
  1. Bake for approximately 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  2. Once cooked, allow it to rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

Storing meatloaf properly is key to maintaining its deliciousness. Once cooled, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or foil and store it in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months. Just make sure to slice it before freezing for easy portions! When reheating, place slices in the microwave or oven until warmed through to preserve its juicy texture.
