  • 3 tbsp Olive oil For cooking

Method

Preparation
  1. Slice the flank steak into thin strips for optimal cooking.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water until well combined. This will be your marinade.
  3. Add the sliced steak to the marinade and allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Cooking
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan, sautéing them until fragrant.
  3. Toss in the marinated steak and cook until it is browned, ensuring the beef attains a nice sear.
  4. Add the broccoli along with a splash of water and cook until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
  5. Stir in the sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and chopped green onions, allowing the flavors to meld for a minute.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds.

Notes

Pair with steamed white rice or quinoa. Consider adding a side of spring rolls or a refreshing cucumber salad. For a twist, drizzle with hoisin sauce or crushed peanuts.
