Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is softened, not melted.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Add one egg at a time.
Add-ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Feel free to experiment with different chocolate varieties.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, using a mixer, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies pair perfectly with vanilla ice cream or can be enjoyed with a glass of cold milk. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze the dough before baking.
