Preparation
- Rinse and pat dry the chicken wings with paper towels, ensuring they are dry for extra crispiness.
- Season the wings with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and black pepper. For best results, let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Once it's hot, place the wings in the fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring there's space for air to circulate.
- Cook for about 22-25 minutes.
- While the wings are air frying, whisk together the melted butter and Frank's hot sauce to create your wing sauce.
- If you're making the homemade blue cheese dressing, crumble the blue cheese and blend it with the sour cream, mayonnaise, grated garlic, and lemon juice. Thin it out with heavy cream if desired.
Finishing Touch
- Once the wings are crispy and cooked through, toss them in the hot sauce until well coated.
- Serve them up hot with the blue cheese dressing on the side.
Notes
These wings shine when served with classic sides like celery sticks and additional blue cheese dressing for dipping. Optionally garnish with fresh herbs.
