Preparation
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and granulated sugar.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and melt the butter.
- Add the frothy yeast mixture, beaten eggs, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Shaping and Baking
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut it into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Glazing
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with a few tablespoons of milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over warm rolls just before serving.
Notes
Best enjoyed warm from the oven. To store, place in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze tightly wrapped for up to 2 months.
